HistoryElder Watson Diggs was a graduate of Indiana State Teachers College and Indiana University, birthplace of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He was considered the “Dreamer” and principal founder of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. for his many contributions during the eDiggsarly development years. An educator by trade, he was a teacher and principal in the Indianapolis Public Schools. After Diggs’ death on November 8, 1947, the name of the school where he taught was changed to Elder Diggs School in his memory. INITIATIVES |
Academic Tutoring
Work weekly on reading and comprehension skills with boys and girls in grades 3-6. Students meet in small groups and read articles. Kappa men lead them in discussions on content and help them to explain, in their own words, details of the articles.
